Our story

Built by product people, not by consultants.

EasyVirtualFair was founded in 2016 — five years before the pandemic made "virtual events" a household term. From day one, our thesis was that hiring events shouldn't require downloads, plugins or six-figure production budgets. A career fair should run in the browser, be launched by a small team, and give every attendee — commuter student, international candidate or remote worker — the same access as someone standing in a physical hall.

For our first four years we ran quietly. Universities in Spain, Portugal and Canada adopted the platform for career weeks and campus recruiting. Then, in March 2020, the world stopped physical events overnight. Our phones didn't stop ringing for two years. In 2020 and 2021 we powered 1,639 fairs — an average of one new event going live every 5 hours, every single day, for 24 straight months. Universities, U.S. state governments, workforce development boards, and multinationals all needed the same thing: keep hiring alive.

What emerged from that stress test is what EasyVirtualFair is today: a battle-tested, browser-based platform trusted by the New York State Department of Labor (378 fairs and counting), Workforce Solutions Houston, JOB1 Louisiana, and dozens of state governments and Fortune 500 employers. We stayed small on purpose — a lean team ships product faster than a large one — and we let the numbers do the talking.

Milestones

Ten years of virtual career fairs, condensed.

2016

EasyVirtualFair founded

Miguel Fernandez and Aitor Zabala launch EasyVirtualFair with a simple thesis: virtual career fairs should run entirely in the browser, with no downloads for attendees. First customers: European universities running international student recruitment fairs.

2017

First multi-university consortiums

Institutions in Spain, Portugal and France start using EVF for joint career fairs, including EDHEC Business School and Universidade do Porto.

2018

Expansion into North America

First Canadian and U.S. clients. York University, University of Ottawa and Concordia University run their first virtual career fairs on the platform.

2019

First U.S. workforce board clients

Louisiana Workforce Commission and JOB1 Business & Career Solutions adopt EasyVirtualFair for regional hiring events — the beginning of what would become our largest customer segment.

2020

Pandemic surge — 714 fairs in a single year

When physical events stopped in March 2020, demand exploded. In 2020 alone EasyVirtualFair hosted 714 virtual fairs — including the first statewide virtual career fairs for New York State Department of Labor, Utah State Government and the City of Minneapolis.

2021

Peak year: 925 fairs delivered

Our busiest year ever. Workforce Solutions Houston, JOB1 Louisiana and Ohio Means Jobs (Cleveland/Cuyahoga County) become recurring monthly clients. NYSDOL alone runs 100+ fairs on the platform in a single year.

2022

Hybrid becomes the new normal

As physical events return, EasyVirtualFair repositions as the go-to platform for hybrid events, multi-region fairs and alumni networking nights. Corporate customers grow significantly: Digi Me and other Fortune 500 employers add EVF to their recurring hiring stack.

2023–2024

Platform maturity: analytics, integrations, compliance

Native integrations with Stripe, Brevo, HubSpot and Google Analytics 4 ship. GDPR + Google Consent Mode v2 compliance is baked in. Real-time analytics dashboard becomes the differentiator vs. competitors.

2025

KLIRI Career Tour launches

EasyVirtualFair launches KLIRI — a network of city-branded virtual career fairs across Philadelphia, Washington DC, Miami, Houston, Tampa and more — bringing employers and candidates together in metro-area hiring events.

2026

10 years, 60,000+ booths served

EasyVirtualFair crosses 2,500+ fairs delivered since 2020 and 60,000+ cumulative exhibitor booths. NYSDOL alone reaches 378 fairs on the platform. The lean team ships more product than most 50-person SaaS companies.

Why 20,000+ employers choose EasyVirtualFair

10 years of scars

We didn't ship "virtual fairs" during the pandemic. We had been running them since 2016. When 2020 hit, we scaled to 925 fairs in a single year because the platform was already battle-tested.

Zero downloads, ever

Attendees join from any browser on desktop or mobile. No Zoom login, no app store, no plugin. This is why our fairs consistently see 2× the attendance of platforms that require downloads.

Pay per event, not per month

No annual SaaS contract. Run one fair, run twenty — you only pay for what you deliver. This is why workforce boards and cyclical university career services love us.

Real support from a small team

Every client gets a dedicated project manager. You talk to the people who ship the product, not a level-1 ticket queue. That's why NYSDOL has stayed with us for 378 fairs and counting.

Unlimited branded booths

Other platforms charge per booth. We don't. Bring 10 or bring 500. Each booth gets custom branding, video chat, downloadable materials, jobs and lead capture.

GDPR, FERPA, WCAG compliant

Government-grade compliance out of the box. DPA, Google Consent Mode v2, WCAG accessibility, EU-registered legal entity for European clients.

Leadership

Founded in 2016 by

EasyVirtualFair was founded by two operators who had been building event and hiring products for a decade before starting EVF. The team stays deliberately lean to ship product faster than any competitor in the space.
